Kingston Senior Center Table Tennis

A picture of Dave in the midst of taking a shot. This gives an idea of the set up at the Kingston Senior Center.
Eight tables, sometimes with all 8 occupied. But we have yet to have no room to play and people sitting out.
We play 1 to 4 pm Mondays and Wednesdays. And Tuesday evening 6:30 to 9 pm

Long Pips out Table Tennis Bat

I am experimenting with different TT bats. The long pips out bat is working well in some instances but I am still trying to get a good combination. LP one side and Pips in rubber the other for drives and loops.
Longs Pips out works well close to the net to block back spinny hits. The ball comes off the LP bat with a wobble and can be difficult to get a good hit on. Unfortunately this is not a great game as the points tend to be short. Some people have difficulty with the returns but others do not. I am still undecided as to whether to pursue this further.
the best LP rubber I could find was SE7EN but this does not seem to be generally available. I have checked out Eacheng.com and the closest they have is a Dawei rubber which I have ordered but will let you know if it is any good when I get it.

Outdoor Table Tennis

Playing outside in the summer is very special. No restrictions in where you can move or how high the ball can bounce.
The table is super grippy and takes spin beautifully. If anyone want to try just email me first and we can set up a time. Late afternoon is best if its hot.

Anyone for a game?

This is a call for Kingston table tennis players. Come out to the Kingston Seniors Centre.
We play table tennis there every Monday and Wednesday afternoon (12:30 to 4) and Tuesday evening 6:30 till we drop.
We play in the gym and there are 8 professional tables set up. Cost is minimal.
Bring your own bat if you want something more than a Walmart special.
